I Blame the Fashion Industry!

I often watch runway shows on Tv, read magazines, ... and I can't help but notice models getting younger and younger. The anorexic look is already there, but now you have models being younger than 15.

I read on a site that designers prefer to use younger models, younger faces, so that they can develop smaller samples, which means lesser costs.

I've never liked the anorexic look, it's very disturbing to me. How can you want a model with an anorexic look. What you're basically telling is that you want a model that is 'just not' anorexic. Some designers surely do not get how this is affecting children's lives.

I adore models like Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Tyra Banks, Gisèle ... Those are not only models, they're like a brand. They have an amazing personality and look stunning healthy!

If you ask me Designers should redefine their target groups. If people recognize theirselves in the models you're presenting them too, or if you use models that people actually want to look like, then people will buy your clothes ten times more.

Designers out there, please consider this ...

Sincerely,
